The install itself is usually three to five hours for a framed or frameless door, and most of a day for a neo-angle or a steam enclosure. Lead time on the glass is the longer part: 7 to 12 business days for standard panels, longer for brass finishes, curved glass, or low-iron.
After. Glass is cut to the finished tile surface, so measuring before tile means guessing at a thickness that has not been set yet. We can look at the job early to plan the layout and quote, then return to template once tile and waterproofing are done.
Usually, yes. If the frame and hardware are sound, we cut a matching tempered panel and reuse what is there. That is a fraction of a new enclosure. Chipped or cracked tempered glass always gets replaced, never repaired.
Yes. All of our glass is tempered, which is what makes it break into small blunt pieces rather than shards. We also use 3/8 or 1/2 inch glass with proper hinges, and we spec a coating that makes cleaning easier and reduces the chance of etching.
Nearly always a worn sweep at the bottom of the door, a hardened jamb seal, or a seam that has lost its silicone. Occasionally it is a door that sits too high off the curb. All of those are same-visit repairs, and none of them require new glass.
Both. We carry the common sweeps, rollers, hinges, and sealants on the truck, so repairs typically finish in one visit. New installs get templated, ordered, and scheduled.
